Burleson takes care of its youth. That effort was recognized in September 2010 when America’s Promise Alliance, the nation’s largest partnership organization dedicated to youth and children, announced that Burleson has been named a winner of the Alliance’s “100 Best Communities for Young People (100 Best).”
Burleson and the other winners spanning 37 states
were recognized Sept. 21 at a ceremony in front of the Washington Monument on the National Mall in Washington, D.C. More than 350 communities in all 50 states and Washington, D.C., were nominated for the 100 Best competition. Thirty of the winners are first-time recipients.
The community honor will be celebrated with a town hall meeting, food and fun on Wednesday, Jan. 12, 2011, 6 p.m.-9 p.m., at the Burleson Recreation Center (the BRiCk). See news release
