Landscape Irrigation

General Information
A permit is required for the installation of landscape irrigation systems. Landscape irrigation systems must comply with the requirements of the International Plumbing Code, and Landscape Water Management Ordinance (Texas Administrative Code Title 30, Part 1, Chapter 344). A backflow prevention device is required at the connection to the water supply, and must be independently tested by a licensed backflow tester. A list of such independent testers can be obtained through the Active Backflow Prevention Assembly Testers (PDF), or by calling the Building Permits and Inspections Department at 817-426-9632.

State law allows a homeowner to perform this work on their homestead. However, any other person performing this work shall be a licensed plumber or irrigator that is registered as a contractor with the City of Burleson.

For more information regarding irrigation systems, please see the Irrigation System Installation Ordinance, and also the Irrigation Notice. Submittal Requirements
