Scenes that Move the Story

Tuesday, February 20, 6 to 7:30 p.m.

Have you ever been told a scene you've written "doesn't move the story forward?" Have you ever wondered exactly what that meant? Join Paula Peckham as she walks you through Randy Ingermanson's book titled "How to Write a Dynamite Scene Using the Snowflake Method." You'll learn how to write each scene, so it shows your character's goal, the conflict that keeps your character from reaching her goal, and the setback or victory at the end. You'll learn the difference between a proactive scene and a reactive one, and how often to use both. And Paula includes a spreadsheet to help you keep all the moving parts in order, and make sure you've answered all the questions. You'll learn how to write a story that keeps the reader turning the page.
