Volunteers of all ages are invited to use the materials drive-thru pick-up at Warren Park between 8 - 9 a.m. to collect their trash bags and gloves before heading out to remove litter and debris from retail corridors, waterways, drainage channels, streets, parks, and other public areas. Youth participants are enthusiastically welcomed but must have adult supervision. Come out, enjoy the camaraderie, and leave knowing you have made a difference! Use the hashtag #BurlesonTrashOff to post your photos to social media.

There will be no pizza or in-person raffle this year due to COVID-19.

Your kids will love this! Parks and Recreation is hosting the popular Far Out Family Campout and Fishing Adventure at Bailey Lake. The overnight event kicks off at 1 p.m. on Saturday and wraps up at 8 a.m. on Sunday. A Burleson Community Resource Officer will be onsite overnight with the parks staff. We will have archery lessons, fishing, a campfire, campfire stories, and a hot dog dinner with s'mores. Prizes will be given out for the biggest catch of the day. Bring your own tent, fishing pole, and bait. Boy Scouts and Master Naturalists will guide your way on nature trails, help you fish, and coordinate other fun activities.

Vietnam Veterans Celebration is slated for Saturday, April 10, at 2 p.m. at Veterans Memorial Plaza in Burleson.
The site of the local celebration is Veterans Memorial Plaza, 298 E. Renfro St., near Renfro Street and I-35W. The City-owned plaza includes a fountain and room for 3,000-plus bricks engraved with the names of local service members. The plaza also includes a bronze eagle and Purple Heart memorial that were unveiled in 2009; the Johnson County Veterans Monument that was added in 2010; and a POW monument that was added in 2011.
