Founders Day

Join us for a day celebrating Burleson's founding! This free, family-friendly event features fun activities including historical re-enactments, food trucks, vendors, car show and a Kids Zone. Burleson Heritage Foundation, a nonprofit organization, is in charge of Founders Day vendor registration.

Cool Sounds of Fall - Selena Forever Tribute Band

Enjoy the cooler temps of fall and rock out to free concerts at Mayor Vera Calvin Plaza. Bring your own chairs, blankets, and picnic, or eat at one of the nearby local restaurants. Thank you to our event sponsors, Fresco's Cocina Mexicana and Fun Town RV. We will be wrapping up National Hispanic Heritage month on October 15 with Selena Forever Tribute Band.

Boo Bash Festival

Free candy for children from birth to 12 years old. Children can participate in free games, bounce houses and more. There will also be onsite food trucks with food available for purchase.

Latin Food Truck Friday

Come check out a variety of Latin food trucks on October 14 as we wrap up National Hispanic Heritage month with a special Latin Food Truck Friday! There will be activities including a fun photo booth, mini-Piñata making station, lotería, and free goodies. Entertainment will include Zumba with Claudia and DJ T-Aye.

Far Out Family Campout

Your kids will love this! Parks and Recreation is hosting the popular Far Out Family Campout and Fishing Adventure at Russell Farm Art Center in October. The overnight event kicks off at 1 p.m. on Saturday and wraps up at 8 a.m. We will have archery lessons, fishing, a campfire, hot dog dinner, and s'mores. Bring your own tent, fishing pole, and bait.

Adult Sip and Science: Volcanoes

Spend a night having fun with other science lovers, sipping and chatting about volcanoes! We will make volcanoes out of clay and use chemicals to erupt them. Bring your own beverages and snacks and let's have a good time! The cost is $10 for the first person in your party and $5 for each additional person.

Halloween-Themed Chemistry for Kids

Kids already love Halloween and we're adding an extra level of fun by adding chemistry to the mix! With this class, kids will make magic cinema blood, vampire fang toothpaste, witches potion, green fire, flying ghost rockets and more. The cost is $15 if paid before October 18, or $20 after that. You can pay online or bring cash with you on the day of class. There are two times available for two age groups. • Ages 8 - 11 years: 9 a.m. - 10:30 a.m. • Ages 11 - 14 years: 11 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. These classes are taught by highly qualified and certified math and science educators.

Fall Fest at the Farm

Celebrate all things Fall with fun activities including a pumpkin walk, hayride and pumpkin float. This is a free event and no registration is required.

Don't Fall this Fall Exercise Class for Seniors by Car-N-Care

Care-N-Care will be presenting the Don't Fall This Fall exercise class for seniors. This is an interactive educational exercise class that provides you with some basic skills to improve balance and give you an opportunity to experience activities that are vital to stability and fall prevention. Bus Ride to State Fair - for Seniors

Bus Ride to State Fair for seniors. The Senior Center will provide transportation to the state fair. The bus ticket cost is $7.00 per person (Fair entrance fee not included). Senior Assist Texas is a registered vendor of the "Specialized Telecommunications Assistance Program" (STAP), a resource of the Texas Health and Human Services Commission. Seniors stop by the Senior Center for a Halloween Party. All the fun starts at 11:15 a.m. with a Costume Contest. Prizes will be awarded for the scariest, funniest, cutest and most original costumes!
