The goal of Operation Remember is to archive the personal histories of Burleson’s veterans and present their stories in a way that encourages every generation to learn more about our veterans’ contributions to our country and our community.
The City of Burleson dedicated Veterans Memorial Plaza on Veterans Day 2009. In 2014, the Plaza was renovated and all of the veterans bricks were replaced. The new layout can accommodate 3,024 veteran bricks, two times what was originally on display.
The plaza also includes:
A bronze eagle and Purple Heart memorial that were unveiled in 2009
The names of veterans from World War I, World War II, Korea and Vietnam from the Johnson County that were added 2010
