Harlan Jefferson joined the City of Burleson as Deputy City Manager in October 2023. 

His municipal career includes: 

• Town Manager for the Town of Prosper (2013 - 2022)
• Town Manager for the Town of Flower Mound (2006 - 2012)
• Deputy Town Manager/Chief Financial Officer for the Town of Flower Mound (2000 - 2006)
• Director of Finance/Chief Financial Officer for the Town of Flower Mound (1997 - 2000) 
• Director of Fiscal Operations for the City of Denton (1994 - 1997)
• Treasurer/Director of Treasury Operations for the City of Denton (1990-1994)
• Risk Manager for the City of Denton (1986 - 1989)

Responsibilities

• Administrative Services (includes Utility Customer Service, 311, Purchasing and Continued Improvement Processes)
• Community Services (includes Marketing and Communications, Burleson Public Library, Senior Activity Center and Animal Services)
