Laptop Checkout

The Burleson Public Library offers laptops for in-house use to provide convenient access to technology for work, research, job applications, online learning, and more.

Eligibility

Laptops are available to:

  • Burleson Public Library cardholders age 18 and over
  • Cardholders whose accounts are in good standing (no blocks for overdue, lost, or damaged items)
  • A valid library card or photo ID is required at checkout.

Checkout Details

  • 2-hour checkout period
  • Up to two renewals, if no other patron is waiting
  • In-house use only
  • No food or drinks near laptops
  • Must be returned at least 30 minutes before closing
  • Borrowers must complete and sign a Laptop Borrowing Agreement
  • Laptops are available on a first-come, first-served basis. There are no waitlists. Renewals must be completed in person at the Library Services Desk.
  • All laptops must be returned in person to the Library Services Desk.

Borrower Responsibilities

By checking out a laptop, the borrower agrees to:

  • Use the device inside the library only
  • Return the laptop in the same condition as received
  • Accept full responsibility for any loss, theft, or damage
  • Immediately report any malfunctions or missing parts to staff

All laptops are inspected upon return. Charges for lost or damaged items may be applied up to 72 hours after return.

If a laptop is lost, stolen, or damaged while checked out, the borrower is responsible for repair or replacement costs as determined by Library Administration. Substitutions will not be accepted in place of payment.

The library reserves the right to refuse future laptop checkouts to any borrower who damages a device or repeatedly returns materials late.
