CERT Training

The Burleson Fire Department tentatively schedules Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) training courses during the spring and fall. All classes will be held at Burleson Fire Station 16, 250 E Hidden Creek Parkway.

Students will learn how to manage utilities and put out small fires; open airways, control bleeding and treat for shock; provide basic medical aid; search for and rescue victims safely; organize as a team; and collect disaster intelligence to support first responder efforts.

You do not have to join the team to go through training. Classes are open to citizens of Burleson, or employees of a Burleson business, who are at least 18 years old. After class completion, those who choose to join the CERT Group will need to complete the volunteer process.

2025 CERT Training Schedule

The next CERT course will run every Tuesday and Thursday from September 30 through October 23, with all classes held 6:30 p.m. - 9:30 p.m. Topics will cover disaster preparedness, fire safety, disaster medical operations, light search and rescue, incident command, and conclude with a final drill and written test.
