All four Burleson City Council seats up for election in May 2026, including the mayor’s seat and council places 2, 4 and 6, went uncontested.
Because all four races are unopposed, the incumbents will be declared elected under state law, Texas Election Code Chapter 2 (Unopposed Candidates Declared Elected). During the March 2, 2026, council meeting, the council will consider an ordinance canceling the May 2026 city of Burleson election.
Mayor Chris Fletcher has served as Burleson’s mayor since November 2020. Council Place 2 member Phil Anderson, Council Place 4 member Larry Scott and Council Place 6 member Adam Russell were each elected in May 2023.
All Burleson City Council members are elected at-large to three-year terms. The candidates will be sworn in at the regularly scheduled May 4, 2026, city council meeting.
