Makey Makey is an invention kit for the 21st century. Turn everyday objects into touch pads and combine them with the internet. It's a simple invention kit for beginners and experts doing art, engineering, and everything in-between. The kit will include MaKey MaKey, connector wires, alligator clips, USB cable. You will need a computer with a USB port.
Our read-along kits combine print books and audio CDs, so children can read or follow along as they listen to a book being read aloud. The combination of audio and print materials helps build vocabulary and reading skills. This is a great way to introduce books to children who are either not reading on their own yet or want to read more challenging books. Our Read-Along Kits are Early/Picture books and Early Reader books, both fiction and non-fiction.
Read It Again Kits
Each theme-based kit contains a collection of children’s materials consisting of approximately five books, one music CD with songs that reinforce concepts, two puppets or educational toys (such as a puzzle), and one teacher resource book that includes directions and additional activities. There are many different kits with a variety of themes such as animals, sharks, get moving, and Fancy Nancy.
Read It Again Kits are only available to Burleson Library cardholders, and the kits must be returned in person during library hours.
This project is made possible in part by a grant from the Institute of Museum and Library Services and the Texas State Library and Archives Commission.
Beginning Reader Backpacks
