Developing Partnerships With Citizens


The Operations Bureau oversees the Patrol and Traffic Sections of the department.  There are 39 authorized positions in patrol and four in traffic. The officers serve a population of approximately 49,000 citizens and 28 square miles of suburban and rural area.  

Other duties of the Operations Bureau include answering calls for service, warrant service, vacation/business checks, and directive patrols. Although traffic enforcement is not the section's primary duties, patrol officers also conduct traffic stops and respond to crashes when the Traffic Unit is not available.
