Overview 
The Patrol Section operates under the Operations Bureau and is responsible for protecting life and property across 28 square miles of suburban and rural Burleson, serving about 53,500 residents.
Patrol officers work 12-hour shifts across four rotations. Each shift is supervised by a sergeant and an officer in charge (OIC), who oversee daily operations and ensure all calls for service are handled promptly, safely and professionally.
Each shift is staffed with eight to 10 officers who carry out the core responsibilities of the Patrol Section, maintaining a visible presence and responding to the community’s needs around the clock.
Partnerships With Citizens
The Patrol Section’s primary responsibility is responding to calls for service. Additional duties include warrant service, directed patrols, vacation and business checks, traffic enforcement and routine crash investigations. Officers are also committed to fostering strong partnerships with residents and businesses to collaboratively identify and solve community concerns.
