[ARCHIVED] Burleson Fire and Texas Health Burleson team up for Super Safety Saturday

Burleson Fire Department and Texas Health Burleson have teamed up to host, Super Safety Saturday, an event for the entire community from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, May 2. The free event will be held at Texas Health Burleson, 2750 SW Wilshire Blvd.    

The fun will include a CareFlite helicopter (from 10 – 11 a.m.), MedStar ground ambulance, Johnson County Game Warden, tours of the fire trucks and the fire safety trailer. Participants will learn pool and sun safety education, how to perform hands-only CPR, how to size and fit a life jacket, bike safety, fire safety, car seat safety and drowning prevention. Shanon Murphy, aka Psycho Shanon from the Kidd Kraddick Morning Show, will be on-hand to share her nephew’s drowning story and to discuss the importance of water safety. 

Certified swim instructors will be on hand to perform free swim evaluations for children. Registration is required, please call 1-877-THR-WELL (1-877-847-9355) to secure your child a 15-minute swim evaluation. Participants of the swim evaluations will need to bring a swimsuit, towel and floatation device.  

Cook Children’s will be performing free car seat checks, but you must register before the event online, then select “book and appointment” Space is limited, so register now.  

There will be free bounce houses, face painting and a fun photo booth.
