UPDATE: 8 a.m. Aug. 17
Water should be restored by 1 p.m. today. We appreciate everyone’s patience.
UPDATE: 9 p.m. Aug. 16
The Public Works Department has exhausted all options to supply the Reserve apartments with temporary water. All buildings at the Reserve have temporary water with limited volume and pressure except building 3; we are unable to provide temporary water to building 3.
They have also exhausted all options to restore water service to Hard 8, Harley Davidson, Mechanic Shop, 7-11, Mobile Gas, both banks, and Sonic while achieving sufficient cutoff to repair the 16” main. These businesses will not have water until the 16” main is repaired.
Jackson Construction is on site and has begun excavation of the leak site. Eastbound Renfro has been closed to provide sufficient room for excavation; the detour plan is below. Estimated the time that the water will be restored is very difficult as we don’t yet know the nature of the break. We hope to have the line repaired by morning 7:00 am, but that may be optimistic. We apologize for the inconvenience the break has caused.
