RaShaunda Johnson, the City of Burleson's Employee of the Quarter, was nominated and selected for her exemplary customer service during a challenging time.
RaShaunda was nominated and selected for working over six months short-staffed at the customer counter in building permits.
"It is not uncommon to see RaShaunda working until 7 p.m. to make sure priority tasks are done, including returning calls and emails to customers," states her nomination form. "RaShaunda has managed to continue to provide excellent customer service during stressful and challenging times."
The building permits office requires multi-tasking regularly but handling the front desk as one person is a challenge when there are typically two employees. The office is busy helping customers who come in for permit related needs, answering the phones simultaneously, and taking care of normal daily operations.
"RaShaunda greets customers like they are friends," states her nomination form. "She remembers personal details about the customers. You can tell her kindness is not just superficial. She takes a genuine interest in who she serves."
RaShaunda has been with the city for almost 23 years, starting in January 1998.
She was honored during the October 19, 2020, City Council meeting. The city's employee of the quarter award is based on an employee's efficiency, transparency, honesty, innovation and customer service, all of which make up the city's ethics statement.
