The city of Burleson will reopen city facilities to the public at 1 p.m. tomorrow, Wednesday, Jan. 28, as conditions continue to improve following recent winter weather impacts.
Public Works crews continue working to treat and clear city of Burleson–maintained roadways, with priority given to major thoroughfares and key collector streets, but many residential streets will remain untreated and slick.
Residents are also reminded that several major roadways, including Wilshire Boulevard, John Jones Drive and portions of Renfro Street, are TxDOT-maintained roads and are not maintained by the city of Burleson.
City officials had hoped to see more melting and improvement in road conditions today; however, limited sunshine prevented significant thawing, and ice remains in shaded areas, on bridges and on lesser-traveled streets. Residents are encouraged to continue using caution when traveling.
Essential city services have remained operational throughout the weather event, and the city appreciates the patience and cooperation of residents during facility closures.
