Indoor Pool Closure and Facility Improvements – Project Update

The indoor pool at the BRiCk has been closed as part of a major renovation project focused on enhancing safety, accessibility and the overall aquatic experience. Improvements include a new indoor play structure and slide, upgraded mechanical systems and other facility enhancements.

As the project enters its final phase, several remaining items must be completed before the indoor pool can safely reopen. These steps are necessary to ensure the facility meets all safety, accessibility and operational standards.

Work currently in progress or pending includes:

  • Installation of ADA-compliant railings for the slide

  • Final slide commissioning and required inspections

  • Reinstallation of windows around the slide area, including one custom-fabricated window still in production

  • Completion and commissioning of the dehumidifier and related ductwork systems

  • Completion of the indoor play structure

  • A full facility cleaning once construction is complete

  • Required lifeguard in-service training, including slide and play structure operations and onboarding for new staff

Based on current information, the indoor pool is anticipated to reopen in late January or early February. A specific reopening date cannot yet be confirmed, as several remaining items depend on inspections, equipment delivery and final commissioning.

The city appreciates the community’s patience as this work continues. The focus remains on reopening the indoor pool safely and providing a positive experience for all users. Additional updates will be shared as more information becomes available.

Aquatics Schedule and Pool Use

The Burleson High School and Centennial High School swim teams use the indoor pool from 5 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. The lap swim area is shared with the Sigma Swim Team Tuesday through Friday from 3:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Lane space is limited during this time.  

Open swim includes the play structure, lazy river, vortex pool, a portion of the lap swim area (unless indicated otherwise on the schedule) and the slide on designated days.
