Pick-Up Schedule The City of Burleson contracts with Waste Connections (formerly Progressive Waste Solutions) for curbside recycling. Recycling is collected once per week. All items must be placed in the city approved green bins and placed at the curb by 7 a.m. on your recycling day. One bin is provided for each residence. Additional bins may be purchased for $10 each. To order an additional bin, please call 817-426-9835 during regular business hours. Lids are available, at the Service Center, 725 SE John Jones Drive, at no additional charge.
In June 2013, Burleson City Council members approved an amendment to an ordinance that now allows residents to use the translucent blue plastic bags, in addition to the current green recycling bins, for weekly curbside recycling collection. The bags, which can be purchased at local retail stores, cannot be less than 33 gallons in size and you can only stuff 35 pounds or less in each bag.
Waste Connections will observe the following holidays:
- New Years Day
- Thanksgiving Day
- Christmas Day
If any of these holidays fall on a weekend, there will be no interruption of service. Memorial Day, Independence Day, and Labor Day will be regular collection days. If City offices are closed for the holiday, please contact Waste Connections at 817-222-2221.
BoxesBoxes need to be broken down and either stacked under your recycle bin or under your regular household garbage bags. If you have moving boxes, you can place the broken-down boxes into other boxes for easier handling, but please remove all packing materials and place in trash bags or in the recycle bin, depending on the type of material.

Residents are welcome to drop off recyclables or pick up free mulch at the Recycle and Compost Center, located at 610 Memorial Plaza, Tuesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Residents will be requested to show a current water bill reflecting solid waste service charges from the City of Burleson.
Effective March 6, 2012, the City of Burleson compost site will only accept brush, tree limbs and yard waste.Residents will no longer be able to drop off other wood or wood by-products such as old lumber, desks, plywood, fencing etc., for grinding.
